Barnabas is Rommel Gonzales, Larrie Ilagan, Richard Roque, and Benn Hubilla. Theirs is a friendship that spans years of sharing the gospel thru singing. The name came from one of the most influential characters in the bible, Barnabas, who was essential in the ministerial efforts of Paul. He was a supporter & encourager by heart, and that was what bonded these men together being a true brother and a blessing to one another.
Barnabas has been entertaining and blessing audiences both young and old alike at local churches and special events for more than two decades. When hearing their collection of songs, one can appreciate the arrangements & the heartfelt rendition of their repertoire.
Aside from being established professionals at work, the group made its mark in the Christian media with guesting over 702 DZAS and CBN Asia's 700 club. One of their ministerial heights came from the local music industry when their debut recording of PAPURI! 18's "DAKILANG PAG-IBIG" was nominated BEST PERFORMANCE BY A NEW DUO OR GROUP RECORDING ARTIST in the prestigious 15TH AWIT AWARDS in 2002. They have been recently featured in one of WISH 107.5's Roadshow broadcasts- promoting their performance at the 2018 Pinoy Playlist spearheaded by music icon Maestro Ryan Cayabyab with the CompanY's Moy Ortiz and artist manager Noel Ferrer.

Barnabas is the first gospel vocal band to emerge under the management of PAPURI!, the music arm of the Far East Broadcasting Company. All trainees of PAPURI!, Barnabas engages in a totally new genre in ballad styles and R&B. Coming from different backgrounds and training, each vocal textures serves to complement and add to their uniqueness as a group, and because of this versatility, one easily absorbs their music and comes away refreshed and inspired.
